Body of man missing after boat accident found

Survivor claims tugboat rammed them during incident off Jurong Port

A search party organised by the family of Mr Hamidzan Abdullah found his body on Sunday night, more than a day after the 34-year-old went missing after he fell into the sea.

Speaking to The Straits Times, Mr Sapari Pagi, 55, a colleague and good friend of Mr Hamidzan, said the body was found at about 11.30pm by a boat chartered by Mr Hamidzan's family.

The father of three had been missing since he was thrown into the sea on Saturday morning after a tug boat hit the fishing boat he was on.

Mr Sapari said last night that Mr Hamidzan's family had identified his body and also performed some religious rites for him.
