TOKYO - Tokyo stocks edged up 0.16 per cent in morning trade on
Monday, following surges in US and European markets last week after a
key EU summit delivered surprise measures to fight the eurozone debt
crisis.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was 14.15
points higher at 9,020.93 by the midday break, after opening 1.08 per
cent higher.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares inched up 0.08 per cent, or 0.63 points, to 770.71.
